Med school update

So my LA County Hospital ID badge (which the hospital itself, for some reason, wasn't authorized to issue, thus forcing us to endure a carpool through heavy traffic and terrible road signage, but that's another story) butchered my last name. Not the first time... but add yet another butchering to the list.

I am now Andrew Hsirh.

OK, not that bad. Just a typo. But then there's the really strange...

I am also a student at the USC School of Medical.

Both of the other two first-years in the car are at the USC School of Medicine.

Also worth reflecting on: my parking permit is for the South San Pablo lot. It's the northernmost lot on the northernmost USC campus, has a street address on NORTH San Pablo Avenue, and even more strangely, is directly north of the San Pablo lot. I wonder what their rationale is for that name. Probably not too different from Caltech using the term "lower lot" for the parking area that's located on the highest ground on campus.

Insomnia is fun. So is laundry backlog. Whee!
